So much excess thermal paste that the gpu chip was surrounded by a wall of paste on 4 sides. Literally 3 VRMs had no contact with the heat pad. Heat pads were misaligned for the VRM column. It's like having a tiny F-15 in there lolĬons: Extremely sloppy heat sink install from factory. But as it is now, I'm actually looking at getting some sound insulation for the first time ever due to this card's noise. So if you have a case that sits far enough away from you that it isn't an issue or if you have some sound insulation in there then go for it, you won't be let down. This card works great, zero issues with it. There are some cooling solutions out there with fans designed specifically to be less noisy. I was on a super tight budget at the time so this was really my only option. My advice is, if you can swing for a card with slightly better fan design then do so. Overall, it is still a great product for the price point though. Normally, this wouldn't be such a big deal but it's to the point that when I'm in a game or streaming and on the mic, the filters for background noise reduction start kicking in to the point my voice starts getting drowned out due to filters clamping the fan noise. At full load it sounds like a tiny hair dryer in there. My case has six fans in there and when this card goes up to about 50% RPM the fans start to get loud. Overall Review: I took one egg off because of the fan noise. Pros: Price at the time I got it was hard to beat for a 2080.
